Update – For Cater Street patients transferring to King Street Surgery

You will by now have received a letter from Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group notifying you that Cater Street Surgery is closing and that you will become a King Street Surgery patient.

We are pleased to welcome you to the King Street Surgery. We are a well-established local practice and have looked after the health of Kempston and the surrounding areas for well over 50 years.

We understand the change might cause you some concern but please be assured that our aim is to make the process as easy as possible for you. Your care will continue to be provided from the same building in Cater Street, and you can still contact the surgery using the same number. The staff you will see will be a combination of existing staff and new staff.

King Street will officially take over your care from MONDAY 6TH APRIL.

(Please note that in your earlier letter from the CCG it gave a date of the 1st April, but this is incorrect: King Street become responsible for your care from Monday 6th April.

Until the 6th April Dr Ali remains responsible for your care.

Remember after the 6th April, the phone number will stay the same 01234 849090 and we will still use the same premises in Cater Street, so please continue to access the service in the same way.

If you need to access your GP service or if you have any queries, please continue to use the Cater Street number: 01234 849090

Just a final note: I am sure you are aware of the current situation with Coronavirus. This is likely to have a significant impact on GP and health services. During the end of March and into April, most GP practices across the country will stop pre-booking patients into future appointments and will instead move to provide a same day response for those who need urgent or emergency care
